PALM HONEY - YOU STOLE MY BLACKOUT
Dreamy psych-gaze track -which out now via Flying Vinyl - from the Reading-based outfit, that also blends in a funk rock side with dreamy keys and cheeky riff striding throughout. Star rating: 3.5/5
BASEMENT REVOLVER - WORDS
Second single from the Canadian trio, lifted from the upcoming debut EP, released on July 15 via Fear Of Missing Out Records, and which was produced by Adam Bentley and Jordan Mitchell (The Dirty Nil, City and Colour, Memoryhouse). The trio - Chrisy Hurn (vocals), Nimal Agalawatte (bass/ synth), Brandon Munroe (drums) - who hail from Hamilton, Ontario, channel shafts of melodic indie rock helmed by Hurn's transcendent vocals. TWIN HEART - SUFFOCATING
The Scottish alt-rock three-piece meld together sharply aggressive guitars with an emo top coating by way of Dawn Baxter’s brittle, yet filmy, vocal delivery, in this new single from their debut EP, 'Progress:Decline', out on July 1 via Rip It Up Records. NATIVE PEOPLE - CALL ME
The quartet from Folkestone, Kent reveal their new sprightly, jangly pop track, melding an 80s synth sound with electronic elements. Digitally released this Friday (July 1), it is the first cut from their upcoming full-length due later this year via Wham Head Records. Star rating: 4/5
VALLKYRIE - STEEL HEART
Dark pop-rock second single - after first outing with 'Voodoo' - by Auckland, New Zealand trio: Omer Gilroy (vocals), Rebel Reid (guitar, synth), Brandon Haru (percussion). Taken from their debut album, they fuse together goth, pop, R&B, and a rap sequence to create a smooth-flowing hybrid. Star rating: 3.5/5
