Track Of The Day :: Grammar - Michigan
Words: Ellie Ward
Not the 'London' Grammar, but the Grammar hailing from Rockville, Massachusetts via the form of Barrie Lindsay. But this second single release, 'Michigan', is every bit as captivating and ear massaging as the other outfit.
Grammar is the electro-pop group created by multi-instrumentalist Lindsay last year after originating as a home recording project. First release 'Americana' whetted the appetite back in the summer, and 'Michigan' easily follows suit.
Co-produced by Billy Pavone (Wet, St. Lucia, Delorean) and Lindsay, and engineered by Josh Bonati (Mac Demarco, Sufjan Stevens), the track is a slow builder of Lindsay sashaying a velvet vocal over a bed of layered synths and condensed drums.
Both tracks are expected on the Grammar debut EP that should arrive next year. Worth taking note of.
