[Video] Girl Ray - Preacher
Taken from their forthcoming debut album 'Earl Grey', released through Moshi Moshi Records on August 4, North London's Girl Ray offer their Alex Cantouris-directed film for track ‘Preacher’.
The period drama take on the bittersweet love story theme with Poppy Hankin’s - whose mum is featured in the video - vocals float over piano and violin melodies.
The band's Iris McConnell said of the video: “It follows the story of a lowly servant (played by professional actor Michael O’ Malley) who succumbs to his deepest desires, losing everything in the process. Get out ur Kleenex! We didn’t intend for it to be this moving, our apologies. Nettles of the Parish 2 also stars heartthrob Alex Parish, who some of you may remember, and Dame Jane Hankin.”
Girl Ray play a sold out Lexington, London on May 23. After a round of summer festivals they return for a headline show at Scala on November 9.
