Track Of The Day :: Embers - Until The Dawn

Words: Linn Branson

Last heard of back in March with their AA-side single 'Signs'/'Unbound', Manchester's Embers return with another of their big-hitting, stop-you-in-your-tracks numbers.

‘Until The Dawn’ - coming with the live video filmed in Manchester’s Albert Hall, which you can see below - is as cavernous and anthemic as those familiar with this band have come to expect from them. From its piano-led opening, 'Until The Dawn' soars through layers of cacophonous drums, violin (courtesy of long-time contributor, PINS' Sophie Galpin), cello behind George Agan's stirring vocal to ascend to epic proportions.

Talking about the track and the video, the band say: “We wanted to create something immersive, bold and ambitious - something that captured who we are, the live band behind it all. 'Until The Dawn' is that feeling of leaving nothing behind. The darkest hour, the silver lining.”

We think we'd have to agree there.

Embers play London's Tooting Tram & Social on November 3, followed by Manchester’s Soup Kitchen the following night.
