Track Of The Day :: Nolita View - Monster

Words: Linn Branson

It was back in 2015 that Battersea indie alt-rock boys Nolita View first came to Little Indie's attention with their 'Departed' EP (recorded in south London using second-hand recording equipment purchased from eBay).

The four-piece now return with 'Monster', the lead single from their forthcoming debut album 'Late to the Races' to be released on October 20. The 13-track record was once again recorded and self-produced at their little studio in Battersea - still using the same 'pre-loved' equipment, although maybe not quite the bargain they'd hoped as the band's Alex Smyth tell us that they "lost quite a lot of work on the album due to a faulty old hard drive and had to do a lot of mixing again at one point which was a bit of a nightmare."

Now back on track, 'Monster' - a John Kennedy Xposure Hot One on his Radio X show earlier this week - comes roaring out of the starting-blocks in a blazing four minutes of guitars and mega riffs, catchy melodies and foot-tapping beat.

Keep your eye on their Facebook for upcoming live shows, including a London date prior to Christmas.
