Track Of The Day :: Ducking Punches - Distant Shadows
Words: Sam Geary
Ahead of their new album ‘Alamort’ - out February 16 via Xtra Mile Recordings - East Anglian outfit Ducking Punches have released new single 'Distant Shadows’.
Taking a change of direction from their once acoustic roots, on this new release they ramp up a heavier sound, with reverb-drenched riffs, relentless pummeling percussion, and the raw punk vocal of Dan Allen.
“'Distant Shadows' is about drifting apart from friends through a lack of trying and a lack of common ground," explains Allen. "It focuses on how fickle friendships are not healthy to have in your life. The title is a play on words, taking the line from Horace, and twisting the meaning.”
