What better way to start the new year than with a new single from Sea Girls.
After wooing us last year with 'Call Me Out', 'Lost', and 'What For' - as well as being tipped by both Little Indie and Huw Stephens as a 'One To Watch' for 2018 - the London-based four-piece kick off the new season with 'Heavenly War'.
Written once again by frontman Henry Camamile - he of the golden baritone - the song possesses all those elements we just adore about this band: sprightly melodies that gather the listener up into their fold, a sharp guitar sound that cuts to the quick, incisive lyrics, a bold chorus, and oh, that voice, don't forget the voice.
“This song is about that weirdly exciting but quite difficult conflict of feelings and events that makes our lives worth living," explains Camamile about 'Heavenly War'. "Ultimately describing that moment when you feel the best about life. I think it’s a really positive message.”
Absolutely, Henry. Heavenly.
Sea Girls hit the road next month for their first headline tour of the UK, which includes an opening night at London’s Omeara on February 1.
