Watch :: Gengahr share video to ‘Before Sunrise’ - the lead single from upcoming album
Ahead of a massive spring with tours across Europe and UK - not forgetting an album release to boot - Gengahr have unveiled the video to ‘Before Sunrise’ - the lead single from the new Neil Comber produced album, 'Where Wildness Grows', out on March 9 through Transgressive Records.
Directed by Jamie Whitby on location in Casablanca, the clip features teenage moped gang, The Anfa Riders who've found their own take on the #bikelife movement with the help of a national glut of cheap import mopeds. Referring to themselves as ’stunters’, they gather in huge groups on the outskirts of the city and away from the authorities who confiscate their bikes on sight.
“This one's super special for me - the culmination of multiple trips to Morocco and months of WhatsApp chats in very dodgy French trying to convince the Anfa Riders to let this weird guy from London come and shoot with them," reveals Whitby. "Huge thanks to the the guys for having us and a big shout out to our local fixer Karim El-Amri and my amazing tiny crew - Sorcha, Jack, and Ruben - who somehow made it all happen in one of the maddest cities in the world.”
The band have also announced the second edition of their Gengahr Gallery, following the success of 2015’s event. The exhibition will feature original artwork from the band’s Hugh Schulte - alongside pieces from members of Slaves, Alt-J, Toothless, Puppy - and runs from March 14 - 20 at A-Side B-Side in Hackney, East London.
