The Sea Atlas sets his sails to the wind in 'Ripped Jeans'
Words: Linn Branson
There's not a lot going on in this new video for 'Ripped Jeans' by solo project The Sea Atlas; more or less just using colour and shadow across the face of Calum Buchanan - aka the Atlas man. It may be deceptively simple, but balances what is quite a good little song.
Based in Scotland's Outer Hebrides, The Sea Atlas spends his non-music life skippering boats up and down the West coast of Scotland, works the land on his croft, and during the storms on the island writes his music in a cabin on the shores of a sea loch.
Given that 25-year-old Mr Buchanan is a rather good-looking chap, sings very nicely in an American alt-rock style on this heartfelt number (although from what he says, this is a more rocky song compared to his previous alt-indie-folk-infused sound), and seems pretty rugged, we can only expect there to be an influx of female tourists up to Isles this summer.
'Ripped Jeans' is the first track from his second, self-titled EP, due later this year.
Congratulations for this wonderful blog. I found it very informative and interesting too. I have bookmarked your blog and will return in the future. I want to encourage you to continue that marvelous work, have a great daytime! Blue jeans pants
