Watch :: Arctic Monkeys make live return after 4 years and debut new material
Words: Sam Geary
Arctic Monkeys made their return to the stage last night (May 2) with their first show in four years at The Observatory in San Diego. As to be expected with their forthcoming album 'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino' out on May 11, this first show was an opportunity to debut new material.
New cuts ‘One Point Perspective’, ‘American Sports’, You're So Dark', 'Four Out of Five', and 'She Looks Like Fun' all made their first live appearance, with Tame Impala’s Cameron Avery joining the band for the latter two songs.
Watch some of last night's show in the video footage here.
'Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino' will mark the follow-up to 2013’s 'AM'. Recorded in Los Angeles, it is produced by Alex Turner - who wrote all the record's songs, composed on piano - with James Ford of Simian Mobile Disco.
