Listen :: Animal Noise head out on a dark 'River' on new single
Words: Ellie Ward
Hailing from the county of Essex that has spawned the likes of Rat Boy, Asylums and FREAK amongst others over the last years, Colchester's incumbents Animal Noise are about to release their new single 'River' on July 13 via Liquid Records.
It's a bit of a good 'un too. The latest track to come from the experimental alt-rock trio's second album, due out later in the year, it's vocally dominated by Josh Sandifer's propulsive delivery, and driven by the pounding repetitive drums that carry the riff from the chorus-rich guitars.
The liner note to the video - think: a cross between Blair Witch Project and 'How to make a DIY low budget band video' there - reads: "We found this old VHS camcorder while clearing out Grandpa's attic and were horrified when we played back the tape inside."
Catch Animal Noise next when they play Bristol's Trinity Centre on June 30 for British Summertime festival (with others).
