Check out IDLES' new album 'Joy As An Act Of Resistance' streaming online - + catch for week of instores/gigs

Words: Ellie Ward

Bristol champs IDLES pull out their new album 'Joy As An Act Of Resistance' today (August 31) ahead of a busy few weeks ahead in Japan and North America. They also take in a week of instores and gigs around the UK from today.

The follow up to last year's 'Brutalism', 'Joy As...' is released via Partisan Records, and features singles ‘Colossus’ and ‘Danny Nedelko’. You can stream the record in full below.

“This album is an attempt to be vulnerable to our audience and to encourage vulnerability; a brave naked smile in this shitty new world," says singer Joe Talbot.

"We have stripped back the songs and lyrics to our bare flesh to allow each other to breathe, to celebrate our differences, and act as an ode to communities and the individuals that forge them. Because without our community, we’d be nothing.”

You can also catch for the last time today, the second day of IDLES' curated pop-up art exhibition in Shoreditch, London, (at HM Electric Gallery, 65 Nile Street, N1 7RD. Open from 12-8pm) which is showing original artwork that will be for sale, with all profits going to Samaritans. More details here.
