Portsmouth's Dials Festival, takes place next Saturday October 6 across five venues, all on Albert Road (The Wedgewood Rooms, Edge Of The Wedge, The Loft, Wine Vaults and Bar Acapulco) from 1.30pm on the day.

LibraLibra - The Loft 1.45pm
The song ‘Tongues’ raised my interest in this Brighton group. Beth Cannon's voice is strong with lots of range and brings out an unusual mix of theatrical 70s rock and synth heaven - usually two things I steer clear off, but for some reason this works. Steve Willcox
Fake Empire - The Wine Vaults 2.30pm
The atmospheric 80s vibe created by Fake Empire saw them runners-up in Portsmouth’s unsigned showcase this week. The trio create a potent, full sound with haunting vocals and sweet harmonies. Debra Stone
Lauran Hibberd - The Loft 2.45pm
Like spending an intimate half-hour with your bestie, the delightful Lauran spins indie pop anecdotes on life’s ironies and is a certainty to make you feel good. DS
Jerry Williams - The Wine Vaults 3.30pm
Heard Jerry last year on the BBC Introducing stage at The Great Escape. She’s got a country type voice with an indie pop band behind her, which blends well together. Think Amy McDonald with a high spirited edge and you won’t go far wrong. SW
Salt Ashes - The Loft 6pm
Salt Ashes are not your normal indie band fodder but more dance oriented and electronica in style with broodingly husky vocals. Deep synths of early Depeche Mode with a mash up of Goldfrapp, using modern production styles. One to get to if you wish to dance your socks off. SW
Thyla - The Wedgewood Rooms 8pm
These Brighton beauties have been storming wherever they play. Millie’s sublime vocals connects with the crowd and the tunes from the band can go from alt-rock to indie pop. They have a piece of everything you could ever want from an indie group. SW
Estrons - The Wedgewood Rooms 9pm
With their debut album coming out the day before Dials, and creating what they call ‘an essence of chaos and beauty’, this post-punk quartet are guaranteed to put in an energetic live set that will leave you breathless but panting for more. DS
Melt Dunes - Bar Acapulco 9pm
Guaranteed 30 minutes of non-stop dark psych that will take your breath away. Melt Dunes are an experience that will stay with you long after the gig is over. DS
Yassassin - The Wine Vaults 9.30pm
From infectious beats to scratchy guitars, this worldly London female indie pop five-piece can move and you can bet your bottom dollar I'm gonna be at the front dancing. SW
Tigercub - The Wedgewood Rooms 10.10pm
Dishing up eclectic tunes to us since 2011, from 90s grunge through post rock, watch the trio from Brighton stamp their authority on Dials with blood, sweat and tears as they take us through a musical range of emotions to a memorable close. DS
