Finding 'Shangri La' with London outfit LONA

Words: Linn Branson

Following the quite gorgeous 'She's With Me', London four-piece - John, Todd, Sam and James - LONA today (March 15) stamp their mark even firmer with the release of new single 'Shangri La'.

If these three and a half minutes of slightly enticing, slightly forbidding s
vocals with a hypnotic concoction of wavy synths and brooding electronica instrumentation, combined with a look and style that sets them up in the very interesting league, LONA are certainly a band that warrant a look-see.

"The idea of 'Shangri La' is loosely inspired by James Hilton’s novel, Lost Horizon," say the band. "The concept of a paradise of peace and youth. Our song is a modern spin on this, set upon the London Shangri-La hotel. It’s about two lovers desire to go back to place where their love was serene."
