Wellington, New Zealand three-piece Mermaidens are heading up to their UK visit in May with the release of their AA-side single 'You Maintain the Stain'/'Cut It Open', released on April 5 via Flying Nun Records.
The woozy 'You Maintain the Stain' first side revels in moments of stripped back, raw post-punk, when others of jangly indie-rock, with guitarist and vocalist Gussie Larkin’s controlled, yet smooth delivery over the angular guitars and doom-sludge sonic layers of sound.
Mermaidens are in the UK in May, playing London's Shacklewell Arms on May 3, and Mother's Ruin in Bristol the following night. See their Facebook for more announcements.
