Nashville-via-Boston's Twen have just put out their official debut single, 'Waste', via their new home on the Frenchkiss label.
The psych-inspired two-piece - vocalist Jane Fitzsimmons and guitarist Ian Jones - have been touring non-stop for the past two years without ever releasing anything more than a live EP from their maiden performance.
This first single from their forthcoming debut album (due later this year), fuses catchy punk and dream-pop, with a liberal dose of psych-rock undertones. The commanding 'Waste' is about fighting the relentless voices of self-doubt that play on loop in your head. Those doubts fall away as Fitzsimmons drops, hypnotically: “I make you wanna be someone / I make you want to waste it / I make you wanna waste some time.”
