Desperate Journalist Are 'Happening' With New Single

London's Desperate Journalist have announced the release of new single 'Happening' for May 5 via Giant Haystacks Records.

Named after the famed John Peel session in which The Cure berated journalist Paul Morley for a less than favourable review, the Finsbury Park four-piece have spent the past year building a reputation for crafting gorgeous melodies that marry the dreamy haziness of indie-rock with the new-romanticism of 80's UK goth.

'Happening', the follow-up to last year's 'Organ', is a solid 2 minutes 43 seconds of glittery guitar notes and a pulsating rockin rhythm section, while bonus b-side track 'Vengeance' highlights lead singer Jo Bevan's voice with a hypnotic bass line that owes as much to early Fleetwood Mac as it does to Siouxsie & The Banshees.

LIVE DATES

May 08. LONDON – The Black Heart (single launch show)
May 10. AMSTERDAM – Paradiso (London Calling)
May 28. LONDON – Power Lunches
June 06. LONDON – Aces & Eights
June 20. LONDON – Camden Crawl
