Track Of The Day :: Sauce - Magick Trick

Words: Ellie Ward

Following ‘There’s A Fool’, which came out in May, Manchester's Sauce return with a 'Magick Trick' up their collective sleeve.

Produced by Alex Greaves (Avalanche Party, Honey Moon, Bloc Party), the psychedelic-groove of 'Magick Trick' is yet another step in the right direction for the quartet, showcasing frontman Molyneux’s vocal range, their knack for explosive guitar hooks and seismic drums - all combining for four and a half minutes of alt-rock 'n' roll.

“'Magick Trick' is Sauce in a nutshell," reveals lyricist Stead. "A song that starts with a towering riff and ends with a towering vocal. There’s a reason we’ve played this song last in our set for over a year now. The crowd’s reaction to this tune has always stood out more than others. It’s who we are from start to finish." The song's underlying message of the confusion in love and loss, is, he adds, something that “everyone in their early 20s can relate to, and that’s exactly why I wrote it.”
