Track Of The Day :: Imperial Daze - Always Settling
Words: Ellie Ward
South London psych pop groovers Imperial Daze emerged early last year with a stunning oeuvre in 'All On Me'.
The four - Alex Cameron-Ward (vocals, guitar), Felix Rebaud-Sauer (guitar, bass), Facundo Rodriguez (keys), Tom Sunney (drums) - now return with 'Always Settling', released October 15 via their own label, AudioCommune Records.
Managed and produced by The Maccabees' Rupert Jarvis, the track was aired earlier this week by another Maccabee, Felix White, sitting in for John Kennedy on Radio X.
'Always Settling' is a brooding, psych-infused sub-five minute piece with Cameron-Ward declaring that “Every day is the same / but I don’t feel the same” over some beautiful guitar work and driving beats that lend a sense of urgency.
Imperial Daze play The Waiting Room in Stoke Newington, London on November 7.
