** VIDEO PREMIERE ** Creeping Jean release their inner 'Bandit' on new single visuals
Words: Linn Branson
Oliver Tooze and Joe Haberfield, the "two psychedelic hit men" of Brighton known as Creeping Jean, today (October 19) unveil their latest single of cool swagger: 'Bandit'.
Recorded at Ben Hillier’s (Nadine Shah/Pixies/Depeche Mode/Blur) farm-based studio near Lewes in East Sussex, Tooze describes the track as about "getting about life as a member of the club in the dark side, living like a villain and the joys of doing so while Avoiding the government living a bandit's life, it’s life that would be nice but isn’t a reality.’’
Along with the track comes its video partner, directed by Will Hutchinson, and which Little Indie has first dibs on.
As the fuzzy driving bass line and guitar riffs drive the the track along, the psychedelic visuals show the duo out and about in their hometown.
"We shot the video in and around Brighton, hoping it captures a bit of the magic about the place we live in and love, while capturing the vibe of the track," says Tooze.
Catch Creeping Jean live on November 10 at The Islington, London, and on November 30 at Forum Kitchen + Bar, Sheffield.
