Watch :: Two Cartoons share 360° video for 'Less People (Less Traffic)'
Words: Sam Geary
Directed by Benji Taylor and the duo's Isaac McFarlane, Auckland-via-Dunedin, New Zealand's Two Cartoons - McFarlane and Bradley Craig - share their 360° VR video for new single, ‘Less People (Less Traffic)’.
The infectious, self-produced (with Edward Castelow) anti-gentrification 'Less People (Less Traffic)' is a song about how people perceive themselves as the victims of traffic, when in fact they are the perpetrators alongside everyone else.
"I think the theme in the lyrics heavily dictated what we did with it, and I feel the comical nature of the song, and the guys, is reflected in the video," states Taylor. "VR is a pretty interesting format to experiment with, you cant hide anything from the camera so we tried packing a bunch of easter eggs in there to make you look around a little more."
"A 360 shot really allowed us to follow the road rage of the song deep into the rabbit hole," adds Isaac McFarlane, "knowing wherever we took it, the camera would pick us up. We also had to hide Suren Unka (Torch), who had to do the lights for us hidden behind a bar. 10/10 would film again."
