'First Blood' from Sydney-based alt-rock trio - Daniel Tomalaris (vocals, guitar), Chris Paine (bass), Alasdair Belling (drums) - St Joan, conjures up an hypnotic spell on its accompanying video.

The track was released earlier this year, and the black & white visual provides a simple, yet gripping, counterpart to the song's lyrics.

“The short film explores betrayal in relationship and where it leaves both parties’ decades down the road," say the band. "After the debris have been cleared and the dust settle we see a man half of whom he once was, restless in the shadow of a broken love. This tired character empathises both with the betrayed and the betrayer as it sheds harsh light on the romance of unfaithfulness and the deep lasting consequence it leaves the wounded.

"The piece is a foreboding reminder of the fragility of commitment in the face of the fleeting nature of life.”
