Watch :: Skeggs - Paradise
Words: Ellie Ward
After having an insane 2018, touring the world - including a run of dates in the UK - and releasing their debut album ‘My Own Mess’, Australia's Skeggs head into 2019 with a bang, along with an appearance at SXSW in Texas in March.
Closimg the year with new single ‘Paradise’, a highlight from the album, alongside a wicked new video directed by Australian surfing legend Nick Chalmers.
The video features tripped-out visuals of the band's daydreams that includes a wild stop motion adventure into outer-space, finding them sharing Aussie delicacies with a friendly alien.
"My concept for the video for Skegss' 'Paradise' was to work with each band member's idea of paradise," says Chalmers. "Benny wanted to be hanging in space drinking tea and eating scotch fingers. Jonny wanted to be hanging with his dog and Toby wanted to be driving his Subaru Brumby with cocktail in hand.
"I'm a big animation fan and wanted to incorporate that into the video so each band member's paradise could be as elaborate as the imagination allowed."
