Glaswegians Heavy Rapids dive into 2019 with blistering new single 'Going Down'
Words: Sam Geary
Glaswegian punk rock outfit Heavy Rapids pull out all the stops on their raucous new single 'Going Down'.
“May I have your attention please,” snarls vocalist Dillon Squire on the Johnny Madden-produced track, out tomorrow (January 18), in which they manage to bang home the message in under two and a half minutes.
Following last year’s singles 'Stuck With' and 'Crying Shame', 'Going Down', says Dillon, draws inspiration "from a conspiracy regarding the false supplied information about the brace position which is shown on airline emergency landing cards. Studies by physicians have shown that this position could actually result in instant death, which would mean the airline don’t have to pay out as much cash compensation. It’s pretty disrespectful to the public who are paying expensive costs to fly, at the risk of their life."
Live dates
February 2 - Edinburgh - Sneaky Pete’s
May 5 - Glasgow - Stag & Dagger Festival
