Words: Sam Geary
Leeds quintet Modern Pleasure first came to my ears almost two years ago with
‘CharonnĂ©’, the third release from the band (who were previously known as Goodbye Chanel).
Not much has been heard recently from them, but now I am pleased to see they are back with a new single 'Downtown', released later this week.
After a time away the 80s tinged dreampop band, now spread all over the world, decided their need to make music together remained and spent 2018 writing and recording new music. ‘Downtown’ sees them back on form with razor sharp guitars, bright production, massive hooks and Scott Johnson's still smooth and absorbing vocals.
