The Peckham, south London-based Talk Show may only just have released their debut single, the irrepressible ‘Fast and Loud’ (out now via YALA! Records), but the four-piece are already proving a band to get excited about.
Produced by Felix Rashman and Philip Brillo at London’s Sleeper Sounds Studio, frontman Harrison Swann describes the song as “a bleak commentary about cities, but that wasn’t intentional. It’s a stream of consciousness, an imaginary account of a metropolis.”
The brief, but urgent two minutes of jagged guitars that spew out woozy riffs and darkly disturbing vocals, comes in a quasi-post-punk surround with a propulsive drum undercurrent that all combine to make something that stands out proudly.
Talk Show are lined up to play Liverpool Sound City, Leicester's Handmade Festival and The Great Escape in May.
