After last month sharing 'You Maintain The Stain', Wellington, New Zealand trio Mermaidens have now revealed B-side, ‘Cut It Open’.
Produced by Mermaidens and James Goldsmith, the gentle new alt-psych track travels along four-plus minutes in a hypnotic haze of baleful sounding bass and drums via Abe Hollingsworth and Lily West, with Gussie Larkin’s lead vocal delivery echoing eerily as she urges you to “cut it open, cut me out”.
Mermaidens are in the UK in May, playing London's Shacklewell Arms on May 3, and Mother's Ruin in Bristol the following night. See their Facebook for more announcements.
