Track Of The Day :: Bec Sandridge - Eyes Wide

Here at Little Indie we still fondly remember Sydney pop diva Bec Sandridge from 2016 with her tongue-in-cheek slice of quirky indie pop, 'You're A Fucking Joke'.

Now she brings her scintillating vocals. stabbing piano hooks and disco beats to 'Eyes Wide', released last Friday (April 26). And there's plenty to like here. Produced by Oscar Dawson (HOLY HOLY) and Gab Strum (aka Japanese Wallpaper), while it throbs on a warped dancefloor club beat, it is Bec’s totally engrossing, defiant vocals that put the icing on the cake; the cake you want to totally gorge on for all its delectable four minutes - before reaching for another four-minute slice.

“I began to question my relationship patterns during the recording process," she says of the track. "I started asking myself is my behaviour instinctual, a long-ingrained habit or based on self-preservation and protection? The song looks at me discovering my own emotional boundaries and limitations.”

Bec Sandridge plays a single launch show on June 7 at Northcote Social Club in Melbourne.
