Released late last month, 'Stop & Start', the new single from Middlesbrough singer/songwriter Joe Ramsey - one time bassist with indie rockers The Panoramic - blends a mellow alt-pop groove with warm acoustics that hold the attention.
The follow-up to debut single 'Time' (which made the Top 40 on the iTunes Singer/Songwriter chart) and 'Shelter', released late last year, 'Stop & Start' says Ramsey is about "that unknowing period you can have at the beginning of a relationship, where one moment everything can be looking up and going in the right direction, then out of nowhere a downward turn can occur and you're left puzzled as to where you stand."
Ramsey's soulful and emotive delivery with traces of a rockier edge, accompanied by acoustic guitar and with Mat Leppanen supplying subtle keys and percussion, makes 'Stop & Start' worth four and a half minutes of your easy listening time.
