Listen :: OK Button - Verso
Words: Richard Cobb
OK Button continue to serve up more aces for their home country than a new-hipped Andy Murray. Their latest and sixth single, ‘Verso’, released last week, carries the familiar beautifully haunting and atmospheric vocals and engrossing cinematic electronic backing beat which have been something of a signature to the trio’s four previous adventures through sound.
Familiar as it may be, each release is further proof of a hardworking cohesive unit crafting a sound unique to themselves and quite unlike anything else around at the moment.
In reference to the single, singer Amber Wilson says: “'Verso' was initially built around a simple guitar line that Adam[Falkner] wrote. The lyrics flowed easily; the theme is of mental health issues and life circumstances separating you from someone you love. On a basic level, the song reflects on fond memories and how you will never let them go.”
‘Verso’ is the band’s first outing with their new label LAB Records and precedes their ‘Sepia Spectres’ EP due out on July 26.
