Octopus are ‘Happy Today’ 'cos they got a shiny new vid!
Words: Ellie Ward
Filmed and edited by Connor Whelan, Manchester's Octopus release their new video to accompany latest single, ‘Happy Today’, which is out now via Someone Great Records/PIAS.
Influenced by the likes of Pavement, Feet and Radiohead, brothers George and Freddie Hunter, and friends Joe Smethurst and Rowan Wells, blend shoegaze, psychedelia and post-Britpop to create their own unique alt-pop sound.
The video clip for the lo-fi, alt-rock track, was filmed in Manchester and features the band themselves, but not always in their usual guise.
“It’s about things not quite going your way and doing nothing about it… except sliding into some corduroy," say the band.
Catch Octopus live at Band On The Wall, Manchester on June 21.
