Track Of The Day :: Low Hummer - Don't You Ever Sleep

Words: Ellie Ward

Out today (September 17) via Dance To The Radio, is Hull five-piece Low Hummer's debut single 'Don't You Ever Sleep'.

It's some entrance too. An underlying post-punk structure, augmented with scuzzy overtones, and given a pop infused injection that combines for something that harkens back to the band's previous incarnation as La BĂȘte Blooms, but with a lighter twist. We are liking this a lot.

"'Don’t You Ever Sleep' is a song about late night loneliness and anxiety leading to purchasing items online as a form of therapy,” reveals vocalist Daniel Mawer. "Sonically it’s us exploring eclectic drumkits and synths, before jumping into a distorted chorus which comes most natural to us. We feel the song is a blueprint of what Low Hummer should sound like."

You can catch Low Hummer at Live at Leeds’ Ones to Watch on October 12 at Brudenell Social Club, Leeds.
