Australian band DROVES have made a surprise drop with a live version of their breakout single, 'Retribution', released in October, and a former Little Indie Track Of The Week.
The live version by the Sydney-based outfit aims to showcases their raw and dynamic presence on stage. The video, produced by Teel Studios, sees them working in complete harmony operating in a hypnotic 360° view, capturing the full effect of the track, driven by an urgent percussive undercurrent and a mantra-like chorus that layers the band's multiple vocalists into a pounding, syncopated chant.
"'Retribution' is the first instalment of many songs to come that challenge the established concept of society through an ironic blend of pop-hooks and dark imagery," states DROVES frontman, Phil Spiteri. "The song was inspired by the complete free reign that the rich are given to dig up and spit out the planet."
