[UPDATED] BBC Sound of 2020 longlist includes Inhaler, Squid, and Arlo Parks
The BBC Sound Of 2020 poll has been revealed, with a number of female artists included this year representing a new wave of British R&B, bedroom pop, and soul.
Among the 10 longlisted artists for the poll's 18th year are Brit Awards Rising Star winner Celeste, dance-pop songwriter Georgia, art-rock band Squid, punk-pop singer Yungblud, soulful poet/singer Arlo Parks, DIY musician Beabadoobee, and Dublin rock band Inhaler.
The winner will be revealed in January on BBC Radio 1, with one artist announced each day from January 5, until the winner is announced on January 9. This post will be updated as each is announced.

British-Jamaican soul singer Celeste has won the BBC Sound of 2020. Born in Los Angeles and raised in Brighton, 25-year-old Celeste Waites' entrancing voice and jazz-steeped songs have also seen her named BBC Music Introducing Artist of the Year 2019.

Easy Life are runners up in the BBC Sound of 2020, The genre-hopping Leicester quintet fuse hip-hop beats with jazzy guitar, pop melodies, psychedelic electronica and witty lyrics.

Described as an "icon" for the UK's suburban youth, Yorkshire's Dominic Harrison, better known as Yungblud, is revealed in third place.
JANUARY 6 2020
Announced earlier today, 21-year-old, soulful Bangladeshi-Irish Londoner Joy Crookes has reached fourth place on the Sound of 2020 list.
JANUARY 5 2020
Their shimmering indie-rock anthems see Dubliners Inhaler take fifth place. Fronted by Elijah Hewson they have steadily risen through the ranks over the last year with thrir synth-injected melodies.
