‘Measured In Gold' is the second single from Wigan indies Stanleys, released last week - the follow up to their January debut ‘A Better Life’.
Tom Concannon’s vocal carries the song along on a melodic bed of steady drums and catchy guitar riffs; while lyrically they say it is an ode to the working man, "inspired by the local area we live, being a very working class and mining background area as well as some family history in the industry. It is, I suppose, a tale of poor vs rich with slander to big corporate business' in general. At the end of the day we will leave this earth being remembered by the love we shared with people, not how deep our pockets are.”
Wise words indeed. Take a listen now.
