Track Of The Day :: Witch King - Straight to Hell

Words: Paul Dawson

‘Straight to Hell’ is a perfect example of the modern mix of primal rock vibes and rebellious nature of true punk.

The third studio release from rising London-based four-piece (whose drummer Charlie Moon Fox is the nephew of the legendary Keith Moon) Witch King, ‘Straight to Hell’, released last Friday, is a feisty continuation of the band's exploration into finding their own sound.

Following on from previous singles ‘Cosmic Eye’ and ‘Sirens’, ‘Straight to Hell’ continues the band's gritty rock styling, and provides a 132-second impactful ride. The vocals provided by Jay Heist are excellent and truly provide some classic rock and roll feels.

Described by guitarist Alfie Scully as “a no nonsense rock song. Burn the churches, eat the rich," Witch King are probably headed for burning success, rather than a fiery hell.
