Track Of The Day :: Broken Hands - For The Night
Words: Ellie Ward
Broken Hands have come back with a big new single - and new sound - on their ‘For The Night’, taken from their upcoming album 'Split In Two', which follows on August 7 via SO Recordings.
‘For The Night’ shows a new side to the Kent rockers, pulling out the heartfelt anthemic side in this slow-burner guitar ballad built for arenas - and probably American ones, as you can feel this song was inspired by the band’s band's long tours across the US melting into Americana-esque moments under the rock banner.
“‘For The Night’ as a song talks about being separated from loved ones during lengthy tours, which to be honest is exactly how I've felt during lock down as me and my partner have had to live separately," explains frontman Dale Norton. "It's crazy that life can separate us, regardless of our decisions.
"This track is definitely the odd one out on this record, but we think it's important to show a different side of what we do musically. We thought what better way for a rock band to do that than release a ballad."
