Lucia & The Best Boys stream 'The State Of Things'

Glasgow's Lucia & the Best Boys today drop their new EP, 'The State Of Things'.

Speaking about the new collection, frontwoman Lucia Fairfull said:

"To me this EP is like a fairytale, telling a story from a period of time in my life. It has only been since I stepped out of that time that I have managed to understand the different emotions I was feeling, through listening back to it. I think going back and listening to our previous EPs like 'Cheap Talk' shows me I feel more comfortable and open within songwriting than before. It was a challenge to throw myself out my comfort zone at a time where all I wanted was comfort. I decided to get away from distractions, go to L.A. and write and record these songs in a new setting with change of scenery in hope that I could write genuine and transparent songs about my first real experience of heartbreak.

"Every song on the EP sits in its original demo form, which I feel, makes them more raw and sentimental. I think they will continue to resonate with me in different ways throughout my whole life and will be a constant guide to help me get through strange times, and I hope it can do the same for others. They are my own Great American Songbook in a way I guess!"

The four-track record - streaming below - includes the sweeping, alt-pop 'Perfectly Untrue' and the piano ballad 'Let Go'.
