Premiered last night (October 6) by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 as her Hottest Record, multi-instrumentalist Liam Ramsden, aka Mellah, has dropped new single 'Hitchin', out now on Columbia Records.
The rolling, blues-tinged indie-pop track - which is set to appear on his debut album out next year - is about "relinquishing control," says Mellah, dismissing the idea that the song may have derived inspiration from forays into the Hertfordshire town.
"Forever pining and searching and digging for contentment, meaning and joy when in reality it's in your back pocket, all you need to do is stop looking for it to notice the free ride."
