Black Honey share new politically-charged anthem ‘Disinfect’, alongside powerful video

Words: Sam Geary

Black Honey share their brand new politically-charged anthem ‘Disinfect’, alongside a powerful video, directed by Craig Hemming.

The track comes ahead of their ‘Written and Directed’ album, set for release on March 19.

"'Disinfect' to me is like watching the school bus burn down," says frontwoman Izzy B. Phillips of the commanding track, as she snarls “disinfect the disaffected” through a heavily distorted guitar-led chorus. "We wrote it before the pandemic but it feels like a premonition of things to come.”

The visual for ‘Disinfect’ is a patchwork of news coverage and end-of-the-world clips, challenging the viewer to face the state of the world and question certain world leaders who may have blood on their hands. "The video is a commentary piece, I love collage and this one is like looking directly at our reality in a mirror.. it’s really honest," Izzy adds.
