Words: Izzy Butler
Hull-based five-piece FEVER have their brand new single, 'International Dream', now out on Blossoms' label Very Clever Records, and ready for your listening attention.
Basking in infectious Strokes-like guitar hooks, the follow-up to last year's 'Honesty', produced by Jonny Hooker at Young Thugs studio in York, sees the band stoke up the ante, working in a singalong, anthemic chorus with James Harrod's prime indie vocals that lead the way over a drums and bass whammy.
Harrod says the track is "a song about trying to convince someone that they don’t need to conform and follow the crowd like everyone else, but simply stay true to themselves. In the age of overly glamourised social media, it’s easy to think that we need to try portray ourselves as someone or something else, in order to impress other people. When in actual fact we don’t, as ultimately none of that materialism really matters.”
