One To Watch :: Evokateur :: Chiming Out New EP

Following on from their debut EP 'Crow's Wedding' released earlier this year, London’s enigmatic electro-pop duo Evokateur return with their second EP 'Chime Hours' on August 20.

Filled once again with the lush sound of lyricist Sarah Villaraus' Kate Bush-like eerie and scintillating vocals and the enigmatic composition and production of Hector Villaraus, the five tracks - '1684', 'Post', 'White Horses', How Long' - are capture a dreamy and opulent sound anchored by driving beats and a menacing edge.

Evokateur achieve a blissful balance between glacial robotic electro and warm crystalline vocals, surrounded by cinematic arrangements, addictive synth lines and layered driving beats. The sound of the EP has an overall beautiful sheen, but beneath this glitter there is a more leftfield, melancholic and sinister undertow. The music is by turns lush and beautiful, menacing and aggressive - or 'sinister mecha-pop' as Time Out describes it.

Music for summer days as well as for dancefloor nights.
