First Listen: Mt. Wolf
If they managed to elude your radar when formerly known as Solar State, there is less chance of London four-piece 'dreamfolk' outfit Mt. Wolf doing so this time. Combining elements of ethereal guitar soundscapes, heart warming female vocals and early dubstep and electronica production styles they have slowly started to gather attention.
After a summer of touring festivals around the world and supporting everyone from James Blake and Little Dragon at 'Symbiosis Gathering' in the Nevada desert to running their successful London night 'Wolf Club', Mt. Wolf (Kate Sproule, vocals, violin; Steve McMinn, Sebastian Fox, guitars; Alex Mitchell, drums) now releasing their debut EP on limited edition 12" vinyl and digital download on Two Sisters Records on October 29.
Drawing on influences the likes of M83 amongst others with Sproule's vocals being alikened to Bjork - they combine electronica-infused folk (that gels both acoustic and electric guitars along with violin, with the noted absence of bass guitar) with a dash of the ethereal that echoes Wild Beasts and Sigur Ros.
Listen to the forthcoming EP here:
Mt. Wolf will be launching the EP at Corsica Studios in London on October 30.
