Last year saw the rise of several bands who had formed during the previous year, rise up and dominate not just the airwaves, but the music media too - see above - got on the bandwagon to hail the music coming out as part of the 'B-Town' explosion.
While the likes of PEACE, Swim Deep and JAWS have put Birmingham on the map, we continue with the second part of our look at some of the other bands from the second city who are prime contenders for shaking it up in 2013.
BAD MOON
Quartet formed late last year, combining psych/grunge and doom-laden heavy guitars and vocals, with influence from Electric Wizard and The Brian Jonestown Massacre.

BROKEN WITT REBELS
Classic rock coupled with a blend of soulful blues from this quartet. Debut single 'All Worn' out released in February; EP coming shortly.
Broken Witt Rebels are: Danny Core - vocals, James Tranter - guitar, Luke Davis - bass, Anthony Byrne - drums
GHOSTS OF DEAD AEROPLANES
Formed in February 2012, Ghosts of Dead Airplanes are a three-piece alt/experimental, anything-goes-in-the-pursuit-of-a-good-tune beat combo.
Ghosts ODA are: Greg Smith - vocals/guitar, Julia Gilbert - keys, Ben Humphrey - drums
ONLY SHADOWS
Four-piece alt rock/powerpop outfit made up of some former members of Vows. Comparisons to early Editors/Bloc Party.
Only Shadows are: Nick Ashby - vocals/guitar, Lee Timms - guitar/keyboards. James Hargave - bass/vocals, Alex Moffitt - drums
RED METHOD
Young pop punkers who could be called the indie girl's One Direction. Made their debut in 2011 with EP 'Faceless Crowd'. Crunchy guitars and some promising raw potential.

THE ANTICS
Big sounding guitars/samples/beats/basslines - pretty big all round then. Having supported The Enemy, Tom Clarke was given to come up with this memorable quote: “They sound like a bare-knuckle fist fight between Primal Scream and Norman Cook, with The Charlatans and The Happy Mondays having rough sex in the background'. What more could you ask for.

THE GRAFHAM WATER SAILING CLUB
Dark industrial and experimental post-punk with a liking for chunky basslines and off-kilter guitars. Not as immediately accessible as say Swim Deep and may be to a required taste, but once there they guarantee to hook.

THESE KINGS
Math pop quartet who got together last year. So far have not done too badly, releasing one single 'Trust Me On This' and supporting fellow Brummies Dumb, Heavy Waves and Laced amongst others on live shows.
These Kings are: Liam Dunn - vocals/guitar, Sam Peters - vocals/bass, Alex Benson - guitar, Tom Harper - vocals/drums
THIEVES
Five- piece lad rock outfit formed early in 2011. Made debut with 'Lacking In Guile' EP last year which showed off their infectious choruses. Describe their mission statement as being to 'write good tunes, jiggle some boobies and party until we can't'. Could give The Twang a run for their money.
Thieves are: Nath Travell - vocals, Jake Goodman - guitar/vocals, Liam Medlicott - guitar, Dale Medlicott - bass, Elliot Reynolds - drums.
TROUMACA
Typically tropical influenced quintet who dabble with dub basslines, calypso, 90s RnB and already playing to sold out shows. Debut EP 'Vigin Island' released in January.

VICTORIES AT SEA
Dark pop/electronica trio who have already started making all the right noises, including opening for Savages. Diverse range of influences include New Order, M83, The Cure and Slowdive. Debut EP imminent on the back of 'Stay Positive' taster.
