Hippy, trippy, free download debut ‘The Room’ from fast rising Manchester psych shoegazers Purple Heart Parade. Now naming yourselves after a much-abused 60s stimulant drug [Drinamyl, supplied as triangular blue tablets known as "purple hearts", were a familiar part of the Mod culture of the time] and turning out a track and video that leaves you feeling as if you've just dropped a few tabs of something you shouldn't have, could give completely the wrong idea...or right idea, who knows, who cares? Just tune in and turn on. Cosmic.

A slow hazy build-up moves into a wash of layered guitars and trance vocals that echo early Verve; swirling in a mesmerizing pattern like a sonic spiral.

The five-piece band only got together at the latter end of last year, yet are already building up a name and fan following. 'The Room' is a fine introduction and serves as a worthy hors d'oeuvres to their first imminent official single.
