'King & Queen' is the debut single from Southampton-based “Indie banger pop” four-piece Mr Tom released on September 1.
Taken from their forthcoming EP of the same name, 'King & Queen' is four minutes of radio-friendly indie-pop that embraces the current Zeitgeist in much the same manner of bands such as Two Door Cinema Club. The accompanying video is somewhat akin to something that Arctic Monkeys might have released circa 'Whatever People Say I Am...' The juxtapositioning of deep reds and blacks against washed out filters of the video's narrative scenes perfectly mirrors the emotions of the characters and the grim reality of the life that they lead in a highly ambitious and accomplished effort from a band yet to be signed.
