Listen :: Grigori
Grigori, the East London-based solo artist, has streamed online another track from his debut EP ‘Sinas’ (released on September 16 thru Naim Edge Records): the instrumental ‘What You Want, You Always Steal’. Listen to the tarck below, which is also available as a free download.
His debut four-track EP brings to a close a year-long process of writing and recording to produce an intricate, honest and complete record: sharp and immediate, soulful electronia music, with the vocal-led harmonic structures of experimental pop and nu-gaze, drawing comparisons to Bon Iver and the likes of Jamie Woon and SOHN.
The music on 'Sinas' was sketched out and drawn together by connecting pieces as Grigori found his musical voice: "Finding a sound world for the music took a while. I had all these pretensions about wanting the project to be 'like this' or 'like that', but I had to leave them behind and just do what served the sketches best, to the best of my understanding with the skills I have."
