Single Review :: Bloodflower - Horizon
Bloodflower
Horizon
August 12 2013 (Jumping Frog Records)
7.5/10
Words: Linn Branson
Indie electronica is a genre that just seems to grow and grow. Latest on the starting blocks is Welsh outfit Bloodflower who return with their second single, 'Horizon'.
The duo - producer Tom Manning, and ex-frontman of The Last Republic, Jonnie Owen - having spent the best part of a year holed up in a studio in Monmouth, gave a taster of their debut album 'Circadian Clock' a few months ago when they unveiled first single, ‘Indigo’.
'Horizon' yet again strikes that balance between electro elements, garlanded with with synth-filled hooks, along with a catchy, upbeat rhythm that harks back to 80s New Wave.
With just two tracks so far online, Bloodflower have already started to create ripples of buzz feed around them. By the time they make their live debut at Swn Fest in October, that should be coming nicely to a head.
