Introducing :: Pastel Colours
New off the block for 2014 are the neo-psych Pastel Colours. Hailing from Falmouth, Cornwall, they have just uploaded online their debut track 'Hands Like Silk'. Recorded in their home studio, they draw inspiration from the likes of The Soft Machine, Syd Barrett and The West Coast Pop Art Experimental Group, amongst others.
And for a debut, 'Hands Like Silk' is a pretty impressive start. Opening on a beautiful oscillation until the drenched guitar kicks in, it then weaves its way through a myriad of effects, jangly guitar strains that dive into your brain in a rush of harmonics.
Pastel Colours are: Josh Gibbs - vocals/guitar, Stanley Duke - keys/effects/vocals, Matthew Robert Oliver - bass, Daniel Morris - guitar, Ben Woods - drums.
