THE COMMON - TAKING ME BACK
London/Gloucestershire three-piece who released debut EP last October. Lots to like here in this track with self-made video that really does grow on you. Compelling vocal. Strong melody. Dreadful curtains.
THE PHANTOMS - REVOLUTION
Edinburgh four-piece psych rockers whose debut EP was released four months ago. This new track is out now and available as a download from their Soundcloud.
HUMBUG - Lucky One
Four Essex college boys from Southend ranging from 16 - 19 years old. Currently working on more demos and gigging on the local circuit. One to watch if this track is anything to go by.
FORMER MONARCHS - 1000 PLANES
Irish rockers based in Cork. This track is taken from their just released debut album 'The Cost Of Living', which doesn't so much 'rock', as gently stun.
PHANTOM RUNNERS - CHASING THE FEELING
Our Track Of The Day from this Brighton-based outfit who sound good in all the right places, and backed by Huey Morgan.
TWELVES - SO LONG, SO FAR
Birmingham solo artist James Hough - aka Twelves - cutting a cross between Bon Iver and Daughter on this laudable bedroom-produced track taken from his EP to be released later this year.
TIGERCUB - BLUE BLOOD
Ferociously edgy new single from the Brighton grunge noise rockin three-piece, released May 5 on Ray Gun Records. Gird your loins - and your ears.
JAWS - THINK TOO MUCH, FEEL TOO LITTLE
Whether the Brum four-piece follow the title to the letter is not known. What is known is that this latest single - out April 14 thru Rattlepop - shows a new refined, melodic structure. Possibly their best yet.
MADE VIOLENT - DIRTY
Starting to become impressive is this post-punk three from Buffalo, New York that we intro'd here back at the beginning of February. Sounding like they could be closer-than-distant musical brothers of Parquet Courts on this down-n-dirrty little belter.
POPPY SEEDS AND THE LOVE EXPLOSION - SHOOTING STARS
Toronto four-piece who make music that sounds very much how their name would suggest.
